A special evening at the U.S. premiere of OH, WHAT HAPPY DAYS, the groundbreaking new feature from acclaimed writer/director Homayoun Ghanizadeh, presented as part of the 2026 UCLA Celebration of Iranian Cinema at the Hammer Museum. Widely recognized for its innovative cinematic format and presentation, the film features an extraordinary ensemble cast including Golshifteh Farahani, Payman Maadi, Navid Mohammadzadeh, Ali Nasirian, and Shirin Neshat. Following the screening, we were honored to welcome Homayoun Ghanizadeh and producer Gelareh Kiazand for a fascinating post-screening conversation moderated by acclaimed actor, producer, and activist Sara Seyed. Together, they shared insights into the film’s creative vision, its unique storytelling approach, and the collaborative process behind one of the most ambitious works in contemporary Iranian cinema. Presented by the UCLA Film & Television Archive and fully supported by Farhang Foundation, the UCLA Celebration of Iranian Cinema continues its longstanding mission of showcasing the richness and diversity of Iranian filmmaking while bringing distinguished filmmakers and artists together with audiences in Los Angeles.
