On December 14, 2019, Farhang Foundation celebrated the arrival of Shabe-e Yalda for the 7th year in a row at UCLA's Schoenberg Hall, at the Herb Alpert School of Music, home of Farhang Foundation's Iranian Music Program. The event featured storytelling and Hafez reading by Iran's first female epic storyteller (Naghal) Gordafarid, along with a spectacular musica journey throughout Iran with the Kooban Ensemble, under the direction of Vandad Massahzadeh, and featuring traditional dances by the Melieka Fathi Company.
