Iran's Post-Sanctions Economic Challenges and Opportunities
Dr. Hashem Pesaran will deliver his assessment of the current situation of Iran's economy and its prospects following the headline-making nuclear deal. The current economic embargo is expected to be eased in the upcoming year, so Professor Pesaran’s lecture will be a necessary and timely addition to the discourse surrounding the potentialities and opportunities laying ahead of an economy some call the largest untouched emerging market in world today.
This talk is part of our Lecture Series, in which we invite Iranian academics and scholars to USC campus every semester to give a talk about their discipline. Refreshments will be served.
Dr. Pesaran was born in Shiraz, Iran. He received his BSs in Economics, Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Salford (England) and his PhD in Economics at Cambridge University. Currently, he is an emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of Cambridge, the John Elliot Distinguished Chair in Economics at the University of Southern California, and a Professorial Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge.
