About Morteza Hosseini Dehcordi
Morteza Hosseini Dehcordi was born in Shahrekord in 1929. He spent his early childhood in Shahrekord and Isfahan while attending his elementary and middle schools and then graduated with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. He started his professional career as a teacher in 1952 and further continued his higher education in Japan in 1960. Upon his return from Japan, he was appointed to Director of Institute of the Agricultural Training Center in Sari. Thereafter, he moved to Rasht, continuing within the same position. He then moved to Tehran in 1965 and was promoted to the general director of Ministry of Education where he created an engineering organization managing all public schools’ facilities throughout Iran. He retired in 1978 and along with his wife joined his three children who were studying in Tennessee, USA. Upon his arrival in USA, he started his second amateur career focusing on his real passion, Iranian music. He has researched and written many articles which published in “Daneshname Iranica,” “Mirase Iran,”“Arman,” “Rahavard” and “Pardis.”He has also authored and published “Hezar Ava,” a four-volume book with focus on traditional Iranian music history and artists.
About Dr. Shahab Paranj
Shahab Paranj is an Iranian composer, instrumentalist and educator. He is considered as one of the pioneers among his generation whose composition style integrates Iranian and Western composition techniques.Paranj holds degrees in music composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music(BM), the Manhattan School of Music(MM), and the University of California, Los Angeles(Ph.D.) where he currently serves as the Postdoctoral Scholar of Iranian music and oversees the Iranian Music Program of the UCLARecent commissions include works for ensemble such as Russian String Orchestra, Long Beach Opera, Intersection Contemporary Music Ensemble and Aleron Trio.Paranj is a founder and artistic director of “Du Vert à L’Iinfini” a contemporary music festival in the Franche Comte region in France and he currently serves as the Music Director of the Iranshahr Orchestra of Los Angeles.
About Mohammad Hossein Ebneyousef
Mr. Ebneyousef has a Masters degree from the University of Southern California and has always worked towards supporting the scientific, cultural, and social activities of Iranians. He has written numerous articles and conducted many lectures always with a focus on Iran. In addition he has provided extensive support in preparation, printing, and free distribution of dozens of valuable projects in various cultural and social fields over the last few decades. In addition Mr. Ebneyousef has established a program to honor prominent retired Iranians who, in addition to their professional achievements, have always supported the Iranian society.
