Opening Night at UCLA Celebration of Iranian Cinema 2025
A powerful evening at the Hammer Museum for the opening night of the 2025 UCLA Celebration of Iranian Cinema by the UCLA Film & Television Archive. The evening featured the much-anticipated U.S. premiere of Reading Lolita in Tehran, starring Golshifteh Farahani and Zar Amir. Following the screening, we were honored to welcome special guests Zar Amir (star) and Marjorie David (screenwriter) for an insightful post-film conversation with Dr. Roya Rastegar, diving into the film’s timely themes and powerful performances. Thank you to all who joined us for this unforgettable celebration of Iranian cinema. Enjoy highlights from this special night! The UCLA CELEBRATION OF IRANIAN CINEMA is presented in proud partnership with Farhang Foundation — the exclusive sponsor of this incredible annual film series.
