Persian After School Program Instructor

The Persian 101 After School program Instructor will work with small groups of K – 12 students under the supervision of the Farhang Foundation Children’s Outreach Council, LAUSD and the City of Beverly Hills. After School Instructors will provide supervision and instruction to students that will create a positive learning environment and allow for students’ to experience a positive exposure to Persian language and Iranian culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare materials and instruction plans for the Persian 101 after school instructional activities. Create and lead a weekly cultural enrichment classes.
  • Lead small group activities that are age appropriate in an atmosphere where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Maintain a daily attendance log.
  • Be able to create a fun and safe learning environment.
  • Be prepared to implement the lesson and activity plans for each session.
  • Be punctual. The after school program follows the school site calendar and is closed during normal school closure days.
Job Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Fluent in English and Persian
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with school aged children specifically K-8 preferred.
  • A college degree
  • Must meet background clearance requirements
  • Knowledge of Iranian/Persian culture, specifically art, history, cuisine, traditions and games
  • Possess love, care, and concern for children and enjoy being with and working with children.
