Persian New Yorker Stories: Screening and Panel Discussion

A group of Iranians living in the USA are trying to organize a big Parade in Manhattan to represent their identity, but it is a monumental challenge for them. A rug washer, a chef, a nurse mom, a joker, a couple of young Persian dancers, and an old Persian jewish tailor are in a race against time to make the big colorful parade work. While the second generation of these immigrants do not see the point in sticking to their parents' culture and traditions and want to be more American.

Director Hassan Solhjoo is a senior producer in BBC world Service. He is the editor and presenter of a film showcase in BBC Persian TV. He studied cinema in Iran and UK and has made more than 10 films, mainly documentaries in and out of Iran. He has earned awards from National and international film festivals. His films include:
