"Folk music, also referred to as native music, embodies the rich tapestry of traditional musical expressions deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of a nation or region.

Passed down through generations, this musical legacy of Iran is particularly intertwined with the distinctive cultural identities of the Kurdish, Gilaki, Azeri, Southern Iranian, and Bakhtiari communities. The resounding melodies, echoing through the corridors of history, have transcended temporal boundaries to captivate contemporary audiences amidst the age of technology.

As an alumna of the Conservatory and University of Music, I, Mahsa Golmakani, harbored a lifelong aspiration to curate a treasury of Iran's enchanting folkloric songs. This vision materialized in the Baade Saba project, a labor of love aimed at acquainting subsequent generations, especially those born outside Iran, with the beauty of these cultural gems. The intention is to instill a sense of pride in their heritage, fostering an appreciation for the nation's profound cultural and artistic richness.

The meticulous arrangement of this series is credited to the exceptional talents of my esteemed colleague, Hamidreza Khorrampanahi, who has skillfully presented these timeless melodies in a contemporary format. Collaborations with numerous accomplished artists have contributed to the project's depth and breadth.”

It is my sincere hope that this collection, meticulously crafted with dedication and passion, brings joy and appreciation to all who engage with it. May the resonance of these melodies kindle a connection to Iran's cultural legacy, fostering a shared sense of warmth and pride.

Warm regards,
Mahsa Golmakani
