In this episode of Farhang Performances, we travel to the city of Mashad in Iran and visit multi-talented musician Shervin Sharveh who performs his rendition of George Gershwin’s classic hit I’VE GOT RHYTHM translated in Persian. According to Shervin, “Jazz is more than simply a music genre, but rather an attitude that brings hope and encourages us to feel free to be ourselves.” His mission in life is to familiarize Persian speakers all around the world with Jazz as an example of a global cultural heritage which tears down barriers and celebrates tolerance and togetherness. In addition to his solo musical career, Shervin has also established the Sharveh Music Academy, a free online music school that provides online lessons in Persian on Instagram @SharvehMuiscAcademy
