About Justina

Justina was born in 1990 in Iran, as a young child she discovered her passion for singing through her father’s love of American music. According to Justina, when she was a young girl she would listen to her father’s favorite tracks and she would mimic and perform them back for him. That is when she really discovered that she wanted to grow up to be a singer. Later she took on the piano and she eventually finished her studies with a BA in theater arts in Tehran. At the age of seventeen she recorded her first track in an underground studio, and by the age of 22 she started her professional career in music, specializing in hip-hop, Persian rap and rhythm & blues.

Her first recording “Nemeekam” was a cover of Rhianna’s hit song “Unfailtfuls.” She is perhaps best known for her tracks “Ghadam Be Ghadam,” “Mohem Neest,” and “Beh In Azadi Behkhand.” Justina is one only a few active Iranian rap artist and has a tremendous following on social media. Her music typically focuses on subjects of women’s issues, social justice, and human rights. Because of the current Iranian laws restricting a women’s right to sing, Justina was forced to eventually leave Iran and is currently perusing her career in exile in the Republic of Georgia.
