Farhang Foundation's 14th Annual Celebration of Nowruz at UCLA
On March 10, 2024, the grounds of UCLA were imbued with the radiant spirit of Nowruz, the Iranian New Year, as Farhang Foundation hosted its 14th Annual Celebration. This event, recognized as the largest free celebration of Nowruz in the Western world, drew thousands of visitors, transcending cultural boundaries to embrace the joyous festivities. The air buzzed with excitement as families, friends, and curious individuals gathered to partake in the rich tapestry of Iranian culture, marking the arrival of spring and new beginnings. Against the backdrop of UCLA's iconic campus, attendees were treated to a diverse array of performances, exhibitions, and activities, weaving together tradition and modernity in a celebration of unity and renewal. At the heart of the event were the remarkable artists and performers whose talent and passion illuminated the stage, captivating audiences with their artistry and grace. The Melieka Fathi Dance Company mesmerized with their elegant choreography, while the rhythmic beats of the L.A. Daf Ensemble resonated throughout the venue, infusing the atmosphere with energy and vitality. Soothing melodies filled the air courtesy of Oliver Hakim and The Ava Choir, stirring hearts and spirits alike. Negar Estakhr and her Puppets brought joy and laughter to young and old alike, their whimsical performances enchanting audiences with tales of wonder and imagination. Adding a contemporary twist to the festivities, DJ Arin kept the crowd moving with his infectious beats, while the Firuze Dance Company dazzled with their dynamic fusion of traditional dance forms. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and hard work of the incredible volunteers who generously gave their time and energy to ensure the smooth running of the event. Their unwavering commitment and passion were instrumental in creating a memorable experience for all who attended. As the sun set on another unforgettable Celebration of Nowruz, Farhang Foundation extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to its success.
