"The idea of Be Yade came to me one late night as I was driving home from the studio and thinking over all of the bittersweet memories of growing up in Iran.

I was thinking about how as kids, through all of the tough times and pressures, we still found a way to be happy, and I thought I should write a song that encapsulates all of those nostalgic moments that I, and so many others from my generation, experienced.

The intention was to cover a couple of decades of Iranian history through the eyes of a child born in the 80s and growing up in the 90s. A time when we were too young to understand how things were. A time when we were so free from responsibilities that we couldn't comprehend how difficult life was for most Iranians. A time when the fire of hope and our future dreams for Iran and our lives still burnt so bright. The fire dimmed increasingly over time as we grew up and faced the realities of living under one of the worst dictatorships of modern history. I hope this song awakens the inner Child in all of us and helps reignite the flames of hope that we once had so we can collectively move toward a better Iran for future generations.

My vision for the music video came to me as I listened to the song, and I thought, what better way to paint a picture than to use memorable bits and pieces from some of the most impactful movies from that era?

There's so much of that era's emotion, and nostalgia in those fantastic films, all made with next to no budget with so many government restrictions. So I hope this comes through and helps the audience connect with the song and the video's emotions.” ~ Erfan

Erfan Paydar is an Iranian rapper, songwriter, producer and label owner, considered to be one of the main founders and ambassadors of Persian rap music. His views are a result of his personal experiences and that is reflected in his poems. His songs provide a mixture of commentary on daily life as well as politics, poetry, and social issues. Erfan launched his career in 2007 with the official launch of his first album titled "AZ KHANEH". His latest collaboration album "AYATOLTRAP" with artist Gdaal was released in 2019.
