We Count - Census 2020

WE COUNT!
By writing ‘Iranian,’ you can help establish an accurate count of our community.
The census is a population count of every person living in the United States and its territories. It is conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau once every 10 years as mandated by the Constitution. Filling out the census provides a chance to shape the future of our community.
This year, for the first time ever, the census directs people to write out their national origin underneath their chosen racial category. Historically, the U.S. Census has under counted the number of individuals of Iranian descent living in the United States. By writing ‘Iranian,’ you can help establish an accurate count of our community.
The census data gathered from the 2020 questionnaire will be used to determine political representation, distribution of resources, and demographic trends for the next 10 years. Filling out the form is quick, easy, safe, and very important.
