The Director’s primary responsibility is the strategic execution and management of a comprehensive annual giving program, including involvement in supporting initiatives in the areas of development services and donor relations/stewardship.

Director develops a coordinated matrix of communication and solicitation strategies involving events, email, direct mail, phone/mail, personal visitation and volunteer engagement, all focused on shaping a sustainable tradition of annual support.

In addition, Director will foster the growth of best practices in the supporting areas of gift processing, data management and donor relations as related to annual giving and the overall resource development effort. The Director has a keen appreciation for Farhang Foundation's mission and of annual giving as the enabling component of successful major gift and planned giving programs.

The Director assists in providing strategic direction and long- and short-range planning for all these areas in the context of growing the annual giving program while supporting the greater development and capital campaign goals of Farhang Foundation.

The performance of the Director will be measured externally in terms of total dollars raised, percentage of donor participation, consistency of giving and average gift size and internally in terms of growth of the donor and prospect database and timely and effective donor stewardship
This position reports to Farhang Foundation's Executive Director.

Job Description:

    1. Develop and implement a comprehensive and strategic annual giving development plan.

    2. Develop a coordinated matrix of communication and solicitation strategies

    3. Work with the members of the Board of Trustees, Councils and Committees in their fund raising and membership activities.

    4. Design, market and implement direct mail campaigns and other such activities, as designated.

    5. Participate in the development of descriptive and interpretive materials that will assist in the process of fund raising and public relations.

    6. Work with the staff to coordinate the marketing and sponsorship of events.

    7. Structure and maintain effective donor stewardship and recognition strategies, including the maintenance of a donation acknowledgement program.

    8. Oversees the prompt acknowledgment and recognition of all annual gifts, including the annual report to constituent

    9. Uses statistics to analysis and evaluate the Annual Fund program to make recommendations for program changes

    10. Foster the growth of gift processing, data management and donor relations as related to annual giving

    11. Offers creative recommendations and solutions relative to the Annual Fund that will motivate volunteers and inspire donors

    12. Major gift prospect research including current Farhang donors

    13. Cultivate and solicit major gift donors which include individuals, foundations and corporations for annual campaign

    14. Implement on-going personal/written/phone contact with major donors/potential donors

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree; entrepreneurial spirit; non-profit development experience preferred
  • Exposure and affinity for Iranian culture and community
  • Experience in fundraising within Iranian community is a plus but not a requirement
  • Previous Major Gift experience required
  • DonorPerfect experience preferred
  • Mature management and communication skills in all facets of Annual Fund operations;
  • Strong written and verbal communication ability;
  • Result oriented individual who demonstrates the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization
  • Collaborative, energetic individual
